Garden in Wevelgem

For this project, we initially carried out a design study for the architecture at the client’s request. We sought to establish a strong relationship between the extension and the garden. This link is reflected in the materials used: the pool edge is made of the same material as the extension, a choice that is also continued in the designed garden wall. The extension was not merely approached as an extension of the house, but as a link between inside and outside. The wall along the garden, adjacent to the extension, plays a key role in this. It creates an embracing gesture that opens up the architecture to the garden. This creates a gentle anchorage between the building and the greenery, with architecture and nature reinforcing each other. Due to this integration of the architectural study towards the garden, the garden was also included in the design at the client’s request. Richly filled flower borders were planted, providing color, texture, and life throughout the seasons. Within this study, the plot opposite the house was also redesigned as a sheep pasture, further enhancing the landscape character of the site.
