Masterplan Deurle

Client

Municipality of Deurle

With the master plan for the village center of Deurle, we propose that the municipality make a clear choice for greening, reducing hard surfaces, and creating sustainable connections throughout the village core. The goal: to establish a green structural framework that extends the Leie landscape through the presbytery garden into the heart of the village.

The redesigned presbytery garden marks the first realized step. What was once mostly paved surface and garage space has been transformed into a green oasis with new trees, flower meadows, and seating areas. This creates a low-maintenance park environment that invites residents and visitors to relax and meet, while enjoying views of both the garden and the Leie landscape.

This achievement forms the starting point for the further transformation of the cemetery and the surrounding public spaces into a coherent, future-oriented, and natural village fabric.
