Frezenberg Ieper residential park

For the residential project the Frezenberg in Ypres, a green plan was drawn up with attention to ecology, water infiltration and a high experiential value for young and old.

The design strived for an atmosphere of a landscape park in which the use of an intensive and extensively managed grassland will provide the residents with an optimal experience of nature. The intensive section can be considered functional green space for sports and games. The extensive section provides additional biodiversity and experience throughout the park. Fruit trees will be planted in these extensive zones. The landscape park provides residents with the necessary privacy and at the same time the comfort of a communal landscape park.

In addition to responding to these ecological and functional needs, the design presents a landscaping that respectfully integrates with its surroundings. Thus, the park has a landscaped appearance and fits within the atmosphere of its wider surroundings.
