This old school on the Lower-Flanders estate in Wervik obtained a very nice reallocation to a cohousing project. The focus on individual living and yet belonging to a small community with communal spaces dedicated to it is reflected in the architectural project.

Logically, this approach was continued in the walled garden. Small terraces demarcated by round clipped yew hedges offer residents the opportunity to enjoy the garden in a private setting. Two small orchards provide a sense of community. One orchard allows for sports and games. The other smaller orchard has rather the function of a quiet meeting garden. Residents can sit there quietly around the pond and enjoy each other’s company and the outdoors.
