The design for the village center of Ranst grew out of the assignment to redevelop four cemeteries within the municipality of Ranst. One of these cemeteries is located right in the heart of the village center. During the design process for this cemetery, the ambition arose to also reimagine the surrounding village core. At the request of the municipality, we then created a concept design that gave shape to this broader vision. After that, we took the initiative to further visualize these ideas, making the potential of this redevelopment even more tangible. The result is a vision for the village center as a place where encounter, remembrance, everyday life, and landscape quality go hand in hand.
