Bozestraat Kortrijk residential park

Connection & meeting

This residential park is designed as a green axis for cyclists and walkers and can be considered as a connecting park between Molenstraat, along Bozestraat to the Heulebeek valley behind.

The entrance to the park is on the Molenstraat and is laid out as a square that is laid out like a carpet over the Molenstraat. The square provides a traffic calming effect and contributes to the safety of this intersection.

A little further on is the entrance square. This square can be considered a gateway to the park. It is a meeting place with ample seating. A place where the people of the neighbourhood can come together.

The park is designed according to the principle of harmonious park management and houses native trees, shrubs and plants, an orchard, wadis for water buffering, a combination of intensively and extensively managed grassland, comfortable footpaths suitable for old and young, benches a green for sports and games, etc. …

The gardens and roof gardens of the houses were also designed. The hedges that border the gardens extend further into the park, perfectly anchoring the housing units in the larger whole of the park. Climbing plants and roof gardens reinforce this intended green anchoring between the architecture and the surrounding park landscape.

This sustainable project is a shining example of how community spirit can be nurtured and strengthened.
