Garden in Heuvelland

Design house

Bart Lannoy

Living in a landscape painting

This garden hangs like a cliff above the beautiful Heuvelland landscape overlooking the Artesian ridge.  The garden enhances the architecture of the house by applying the same lines and simplicity. A long staircase, enclosed by substantial yew hedges, connects to the upper entrance. The upper part of the garden was planted with a structure of formally planted sycamore trees. This structure catches the light, giving the garden an enchanting atmosphere in all seasons. The structure also frames the landscape like that of a landscape painting.
