Artwork 'The children at play'

Marc Verdoodt

Private garden in Aalst

This beautiful garden project ran concurrently with the interior redesign. The garden is mostly viewed from above since the living spaces are on the first floor. Continuing the same atmosphere from inside to outside was the starting point. First, the large spruces were uprooted that took away all the light. The magnolia was preserved and now stands there as a beautiful solitary. The resident has a love of boxwood plants. They were given a prominent place there and flank the raised pond that was completely elaborated in Belgian bluestone. In this garden, 3 ornaments were added. The water fountain at the end of the pond, the artwork “The children playing” under the magnolia and the classic flower pot that holds an emotional value was placed on a pedestal in bluestone and refers to the previous owner.
