The redesign of the village center of Zillebeke is a timeless design, as it distances itself from passing trends. The classical values of the village are preserved and even reinforced, with the intention of creating the impression that the village center has always looked this way.

The design also reflects a broad and open vision. Various parts of the village have been interconnected. To this end, the design provides a visual link between the village’s new small green and the adjacent, greened cemetery. The planting of trees in the village and on the cemetery grounds, as well as the transformation of the cemetery wall into a low seating wall, are intended to realize this visual connection.
