Villa house in a landscapegarden

The client asked me to design their landscape garden and their house. Their dream is to build a modernist-inspired house overlooking a landscape garden that connects to the banks of the river Leie.

In this design, the residents can always find a balance between openness and seclusion. The seclusion of the patio garden with pond at the front and the openness of the terrace garden with swimming pool overlooking the open landscape.

The facades with large windows optimise contact with the landscape from the inside and flow seamlessly into the garden walls. Over time, the rough brick will acquire a patina on which climbing and wall plants can thrive luxuriantly. Large windows optimise interior contact with the landscape.

The house and the landscape garden merge into their natural context and offer residents the optimal experience of being in the landscape.
